Meet The Artist

Hi, I’m Jess, a full-time artist based in Geelong, Australia.

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember—ever since I could hold a pencil, creativity has been my anchor, my escape, and my way of making sense of the world.

For me, art is more than just making something beautiful. It’s a form of productive meditation, a process that brings calm, clarity, and healing. My work is a reflection of both the seen and the felt, using texture, movement, and dimension to bring emotion to life.

I have been creating and selling my art for a few years now, and each time I see my work bringing joy to others and adding something special to their space, it lights a fire in my soul. Knowing that my art resonates with people in such a meaningful way is what drives me to keep creating. My hope is that my work brings a sense of peace, depth, and connection into your space as well.

My Story

While I’ve always been drawn to creativity, my true journey as an artist began at 14 when I spent time with an incredible art therapist. She showed me that art was more than just self-expression—it was a way to process emotions, quiet the chaos in my mind, and heal. That experience shaped my deep connection to art and set the foundation for everything that followed.

I pursued my passion at art school for a short time, dreaming of a future where creativity was at the center of my life. But as life often does, my path took a different turn. A corporate career, motherhood, and the everyday demands of life meant that art became something I turned to in stolen moments—always there, always waiting, but never my main focus.

Then everything changed. A few years of intense challenges for my children and I culminated in a defining moment: being made redundant from my corporate job of 10 years. At the time, it felt like my world had been turned upside down. But looking back, it was the best thing that could have happened. It pushed me to fully embrace my passion, to create without limits, and to step into the artist I was always meant to be.

Since then, I’ve been creating more than ever—experimenting, evolving, failing, trying again, and growing. Art has once again become my anchor, but this time, I’m holding on with both hands. And that’s how Jessica Michelle Creative was born—a labor of love, healing, and resilience.

Thank you for being here and for being part of my journey.
